Monrovia Canyon Park - Braunton's Milkvetch

(Astragalus brauntonii)

This member of the Pea Family is a very rare (Federally endangered) native plant that is has been found in only 28 known locations in Los Angeles and Orange counties, with a short section of the Lower Clamshell Trucktrail (see Red Teardrop) in the foothills above Monrovia being one of them.
