Also known as Chaparral or San Diego Nightshade, this member of the Nightshade Family (Solanaceae) can be found in the park along the upper Bill Cull Trail. The distinctive pentagon-shaped purple flower, with the yellow center, can bloom throughout the year.
It produces 3/8 inch green berries that remain green when ripe. Both the leaves and the fruit of this plant are VERY poisonous.
