Scarlet Monkeyflower seen growing alongside the stream below one of the flood control checkdams in Monrovia Canyon. This native member of the Figwort family can be found growing in washes near water and has soft, very sticky leaves. Between April and October this plant has very bright red blossoms, hence its common name. Click on the photo for more info about this plant.
