Monrovia Canyon Park - White or Douglas' Nightshade

(Solanum douglasii)

This member of the Nightshade Family (Solanaceae) can be found throughout the park. The distinctive five-point white flower, with the yellow center, can bloom throughout the year. The green berries turn black when ripe. Both the leaves and the fruit of this plant are VERY poisonous. This particular specimen was found along the upper Bill Cull Trail.
