Monrovia Canyon Park - Wild Cucumber

(Marah macrocarpa - Formerly M. macrocarpus)

The spiky green seedpod of the Wild Cucumber. This plant sprouts in late winter, early spring after the first rains,
blooms quickly and produces many seedpods before going dormant by early summer. The fruit and seeds of this plant are poisonous.
