This is a photo of the remains of the observatory at Echo Mountain. In the background are the remains of the Echo Mountain House resort. Click here for a picture of what the Lowe Observatory originally looked like back in 1894.


This is a 1894 photo of the Lowe Observatory that housed a 16 inch refracting telescope. Fierce winds in 1928 destroyed the structure. All that remains today is the concrete pedestal that held the telescope and the circular foundation of the observatory dome, both of which can be seen in the previous photo.
