The man being helped in this photo is Don Macpherson, the 93 year old son of David Macpherson, the electrical engineer who designed and built the incline railway. This photo was taken at the Ceremony honoring the 100th anniversary of the original opening of the Echo Mountain Resort. The partially obscured man on the left, assisting Don Macpherson, is John W. Robinson, the well known author of many books about the history and lore of the San Gabriel Mountains.
